About the Wilmington Family YMCA
For two decades the Wilmington Family YMCA has sponsored outstanding youth soccer programs that foster good sportsmanship, fun and skill development.
Community-based teams are open to youth ages 3-14+ with YMCA tournaments held for older age divisions and new travel teams for boys and girls.
U-12 and U-14 teams register in North Carolina Youth Soccer Association through Cape Fear Youth Soccer and in 2008 the YMCA Elite (U-14 Boys) competed successfully at the N.C. State Games in Greensboro.
Most games and practices are held at the YMCA Sports Complex, 2710 Market Street

The Courage concept is to help players, coaches, parents, referees, fans and anyone else who is interested to experience the world of Soccer.
Through this experience, we try not to develop professional soccer players, but professional individuals.
Our core values include strong parent involvement with the players to help instill integrity and excellence in work habits. Sportsmanship and respect are daily goals on and off the field of play.
Quality time and fun family experiences, through soccer, are our by-products. As the saying goes, “we aspire to inspire”.
Tournament Guidelines
No player may be registered to play on more than one team during the tournament.
Players must be 7 years old by 9/15/08 to enter.
Scheduling of play will be grouped according to age-appropriateness for registered teams.
Games will be played according to appropriate U.S. Youth Soccer Guidelines.
Coed teams must compete in Boy’s Division.
All games will be played at the Hugh MacRae / Hoggard Fields
Check-in Friday night, games played Saturday & Sunday
All teams are guaranteed a minimum of 3 games
Registration fees:
All ages $250 maximum per team
Discount available for YMCA teams

Teams registered beyond this time will not be printed in the tournament program
Saturday night is Courage Classic night at Wilson’s!
